Our Mission
To provide financial assistance to local families with a child facing a life-threatening illness.
The purpose of the Northern Lights Foundation is to provide local children (up to the age of 18) facing a life-threatening illness with an unrestricted grant for their family to use however they need during a very challenging emotional and financial time. As there are many requests for grants, we work to assist as many families as possible who fall under the following qualifying conditions:
- At the time of referral, the disease or medical condition has become life-threatening
- Child is up to the age of 18 (application must be made before 19th Birthday)
- Family lives within 100 miles of the Duluth, Minnesota community
Local grants are given to the following area but are also considered on a case-by-case basis based on the medical facility availability of the child (100-mile radius):
